Ruth E. Walker believes the job of a writer in any society is simply to write, because a good writer reflects a society back to itself. Walker's first novel, Living Underground, is being released by Seraphim Editions this month. Anne Simpson is an award-winning writer who has made something of a second career out of being a writer in residence across Canada, and even in Ghana. She's the 2013 Mabel Pugh Taylor Writer in Residence for McMaster and the Hamilton Public Library. She read for us from her work, explaining what a writer in residence does.
